Beyond traditional vacation rentals, Airbnb aims to offer a broader range of services that enhance the daily lives of its users, particularly in densely populated and culturally rich cities like New York City.

Challenge
Airbnb faced the challenge of increasing user engagement among its NYC users, who were primarily using the app for travel accommodations. The company recognized an opportunity to create a new feature that would allow users to connect and use the app more frequently than just for travel, thereby deepening their relationship with the brand.

Solution
My team developed a new feature within the app that focuses on events and clubhouses or co-working spaces. This feature allows users to regularly engage with the app by discovering and attending events that align with their interests. Whether it's a networking event, a workshop, or a cultural experience, NYC users can now use Airbnb to explore and participate in the vibrant local scene, making the app a part of their daily lives.

Outcome
NYC users are now able to connect more and engage with Airbnb daily to see events that interest them, transforming the app from a tool used only for occasional travel into a dynamic platform that enhances their local experiences.
